I am on a journey of Self-Love, and I can tell you that it surely changed my perspective of the way I see my life now, so I thought why not tell you what is Self-Love? and everything about it, so here we are,

What is Self-Love? 

Self-Love is an appreciation of one's own worth or virtue, If your end goal is your body and your mind then you are in love with yourself but if you are using your body and mind on something else and the end goal is not your body and mind then you are not in love with yourself. Your love for yourself cannot be based on other people's opinions, people's opinions on who you are as a person are not valid . 

 Why is Self-Love important?

Loving yourself is a basic need as a human being. It has so many benefits like, it gives you greater life satisfaction when we love ourselves more we instantly change our perspective of the world, Self-Love gives more positive attitude towards life and also it gives better mental health.

Power of Self-Love

It changes the perspective of life like we begin to see life not as something "to me", but as a "reflection of who we are". If we can't love ourselves the way we deserve then how can someone love you the way we deserve, It only happens when we love ourselves that we can truly love others.


What does Self-Love look like?

  • Talking to yourself
  • Saying good things about yourself
  • Prioritizing yourself
  • Trusting yourself
  • Being true to yourself
  • Being nice to yourself
  • Setting healthy boundaries
  • Forgiving yourself when you aren't being true or nice to yourself


Is Self-Love mean Narcissism?

Putting yourself above everyone else, narcissists believe that they are better than others and won't acknowledge or take responsibility for their mistakes and flaws, they lack empathy for others.
Whereas self-love on other hand isn't about showing off how great you are. people who love themselves despite their imperfections. Self-Love doesn't prevent you from caring about others, it simply means you can give yourself the same kindness and love that you give to others.

How to Practice or Achieve Self-Love?

  • Try to treat yourself a little better than you did yesterday
  • Stop comparing yourself to others
  • Don't worry about others opinion's
  • Allow yourself to make mistakes
  • Remember your value doesn't lie in how your body looks like
  • Don't be afraid to let go of toxic people
  • Process your fears
  • Trust yourself to make good decisions
